Description

Domains created or imported into a Project Version and managed through the Domain Dashboard are templates that can be added and used for test data generation in one or more cases. 


Once added, the Domain, its Attributes, and assigned Generators can be modified at the Test Data Case level without impacting it at the Domain (Template) level. Users can perform the following actions: 

Select the Case Suite, Category, and Case, and then use the Edit (Pencil) icon to view and add Attributes to a Case Domain.

When Should a New Attribute be Added to a Case?

  • Any time the Attribute does not exist at the Domain (Template) level and should be part of test data generation for an individual case.

  • Please note that when added this way, it will not be available at the Template level or to other cases at the case level. 


When Should an Existing Attribute be Added to a Case?

  • Any time changes must be made to an Attribute's parameters or Generator(s) for an individual case.
  • This allows the user to make the changes at the Case level without impacting them at the Domain level.


How to Add a New Attribute to a Case Domain

  • Click on New Attribute to add a new Attribute to the Domain.



  • Enter a Name and click the Save button.



    Note: Use the Minus (-) icon to the right of the Attribute name to remove it from the Domain.

How to Add an Existing Attribute to a Case Domain

  • Click the Plus (+) to add an existing Attribute to the Test Data Case Domain.


  • Use the checkboxes to select Attributes and click Save.
  • A checkmark means the Attribute has been selected. 


  • Select an added Attribute to view its Generator(s) and make changes.
     
    Note: Use the Minus (-) to remove an individual Attribute from the Test Data Case Domain. 

Next Steps

Once added, users can replace the assigned Generator, make parameter changes, and Link Generators as needed. The steps are the same as when making these changes at the Domain (Template) level.
