Description

Any user who is not the G-Questionnaire Creator or an Org Admin will automatically be in "Tester" mode, as shown below. They can create cases by copying the template or another case. To learn more about G-Questionnaire and how it can be used, click here



In This Article


How to Create Cases from the Default Template

  • Click on the Copy icon for the Template.


  • Enter a Name, enter a Description (optional), and click Save.



How to Create Cases from other Cases

  • Click on the Copy icon for an existing Case.



  • Enter a Name, enter a Description (optional), and click Save.


What can Users Change in this Form? 

New users, who are not as familiar with GenRocket, can easily make the following changes: 

  • Change Domain Loop Counts
  • Manage Domain Variables
  • Modify Values Generated for a Domain Attribute 
    • Set to Constant Value
    • Pick from Values Generated by the Assigned Generator
    • Sync the Generator from the Template
  • Toggle Domains with the grEnable Attribute (when shown on the form)

Use Case Prerequisites

Note: The use cases in this article build on the master use case outlined in this article: G-Questionnaire Step-By-Step Walkthrough.


  1. A Test Data Engineer (TDE) has already completed the following: 
    • Created and set up the Project
    • Created the G-Questionnaire Suite
    • Authored the Template

  2. A User has already copied the Template to create a G-Questionnaire Case.

 

Use Case 1 - Generate a Specified Volume of Data for ABC Organization

Tester 1 wants to generate the following test data: 

  • 1 Organization
  • 3 Departments
  • 10 Users per Department
  • 1 Address per User


Tester 1 wants to use three constant values for the Organization Name: ABC Organization, DEF Organization, and XYZ Organization.

Step 1 - Select the G-Questionnaire Suite and Case




Step 2 - Change the Department Domain Loop Count

  • Click on the Edit (Pencil) icon.


  • Enter "5" for the Loop Count value and click Save.
     


Step 3 - Change the User Domain Loop Count

  • Click on the Edit (Pencil) icon.


  • Enter "10" for the Loop Count value and click Save.


Step 4 - Enter Constant Values for the name Attribute

  • Enter ABC Organization, DEF Organization, and XYZ Organization as constant values for the Domain Attribute.



  • Click Save at the bottom.

Use Case 2 - Generate a Larger Volume of Data with 1 to 3 Addresses per User

Tester 2 wants to generate a larger volume and variety of data than Tester 1: 

  • 2 Organizations
  • 5 Departments
  • 100 Users per Department
  • 1 to 3 Addresses per User


They will need to complete the following steps: 


Step 1 - Select the G-Questionnaire Suite and Case



Step 2 - Change the Organization Domain Loop Count

  • Click on the Edit (Pencil) icon.


  • Enter "2" for the Loop Count value and click Save.


Step 3 - Change the Department Domain Loop Count

  • Click on the Edit (Pencil) icon.


  • Enter "5" for the Loop Count value and click Save.


Step 4 - Change the User Domain Loop Count

  • Click on the Edit (Pencil) icon.


  • Enter "100" for the Loop Count value and click Save.


Step 5 - Change the Address Domain Loop Count

  • Click on the Edit (Pencil) icon.


  • Select the Random Loop Type.
  • Enter "1" for the Min Range.
  • Enter "3" for the Max Range.
  • Click Save.


  • Click Save again at the bottom of the G-Questionnaire form.

Use Case 3 - Generate Data for Three Specific States

Tester 3 wants to generate the same volume of data as Tester 2; however, they want to generate data for these specific states: Colorado, Arkansas, and North Carolina. The tester copies Tester 2's case and then makes the following modifications.


Step 1 - Select the G-Questionnaire Suite and Case



Step 2 - Select the Required States

  • Click on the Select from generated Preview Values field for the Attribute.
  • Select a State from the list and repeat.
  • Click Save at the bottom.
