Description

When you create a new Attribute, GenRocket will try to automatically and intelligently assign a Generator to it. When no Default Generators match the Attribute, the SimplePatternGen Generator will be assigned by default. A new Generator can be assigned to an single Attribute in one of three ways:

  • Use the Quick Generator Replacement Menu to select and assign a new Generator.
  • Use the Remove Generator Button to remove the current Generator and select a new Generator.
  • Add or link additional Generators to the single Attribute.

The article will show how to do the following:

How to Assign Additional Generators to a Single Attribute

Additional Generators can be assigned to a Generator and linked for a single Attribute. A linked Generator can be referenced by other Generators assigned to the Attribute and used to generate more complex data.

If you know the name of the Generator, click on the Start typing to select Generators field underneath the Linked Generators Table and enter part or all of the Generator Name into the field.

Then click the Add button located to the right of this field.

If you do not know the name of the Generator, follow the steps below to view all available Generators and make a selection:

  • Click on the Add Generator button underneath the Linked Generators Table.

  • In the Add A Generator dialog, select the Generator you would like to use for the Attribute.

  • Use the input field to search for a specific Generator or click on a Category on the left side of the dialog.

  • Click on the Plus + or the Generator window to add a Generator to the Attribute.

  • For this example, the USStateAbbrevGen Generator will be selected.
