Lesson Summary

This lesson will include detailed steps in the process of changing or modifying Attribute Generators for the User Domain. This lesson is used to show you how to model data with GenRocket to meet your specific data requirements. 


Similar lessons to change or modify Attribute Generators on the GrantHistory and NotificationSetting Domains will be less detailed because of steps which should be apparent from the repetition of steps from this lesson.  


Lesson Steps

Step 1 - Modify the User Domain

  • On the Project Dashboard, go to the Domains panel and click on the 'User' Domain link.



Step 2 - Modify the firstName Attribute's Generator

  • In the Domains Attribute list panel, click on the firstName Attribute



Step 3 - Modify Generator Parameters

  • Change the nameType parameter to firstName
  • Change the sortOrder parameter to random
  • Click the Save Generator button



Step 4 - Modify the lastName Attribute's Generator

  • In the Domains Attribute list panel, click on the lastName Attribute



Step 5 - Modify Generator Parameters

  • Change the sortOrder parameter to random
  • Click the Save Generator button



Step 6 - Modify the ssn Attribute's Generator

  • In the Domains Attribute list panel, click on the ssn Attribute


Step 7 - Modify Generator Parameters

  • Change the generationType parameter to random
  • Click the Save Generator button



Step 8 - Modify the activationDate Attribute's Generator

  • In the Domains Attribute list panel, click on the activationDate Attribute



  • Open the Generator replacement dropdown


  • Enter, flex, in the filter input field 
  • Select the FlexibleDateRangeGen
  • Click the Replace button


Step 9 - Modify Generator Parameters

  • Change the endRange parameter to 1095
  • Change the nextBy parameter to Day
  • Click the Save Generator button
