A Test Data Rule Set can be locked or unlocked after it has been created within the GenRocket web platform for a Project or Project Version. 


Only users with the appropriate permissions are able to unlock and lock a Test Data Rule Set. When locked, it cannot be deleted from the Project. 


This article shows how to do the following: 

  • Lock a Test Data Rule Set
  • Unlock a Test Data Rule Set

Locking a Test Data Rule Set

Locking a Test Data Rule Set prevents it from being deleted by other users. Users who are able to access the Project will still be able to manage Test Data Rules and their Conditions/Actions for the set. Additionally, they will still be able to download the Test Data Rule Set.


To lock a Test Data Rule Set, complete the following steps:  

  • Click on the Lock Icon within the Action Column for a Test Data Rule Set.

  • It will appear unlocked when a Test Data Rule Set is not currently locked.


  • Click Yes within the warning message to lock the Test Data Rule Set.


    Note: Click No to close this message without locking the Test Data Rule Set.

  • Once the Test Data Rule Set is locked, the icon will appear locked as well. 


    Note: The Delete (Trash Can) option will no longer be present for the Test Data Rule Set.


Unlocking a Test Data Rule Set

To unlock a Test Data Rule Set, complete the following steps: 

  • Click on the Lock Icon within the Action Column for the Test Data Rule Set.


  • Next, click Yes in the confirmation message to unlock it.


    Note: Click No to close this message without unlocking the Test Data Rule Set.


  • Once it has been unlocked, the icon will appear unlocked as well.
