Automatically Set Up Flat/Nested JSON, Avro, and Parquet Projects in GenRocket

An Import from Spark Schema option has been added to the New Domain menu within the Project Dashboard and can be used to automatically setup a JSON, Avro, or Parquet Project in GenRocket. This option can be used for the generation of simple and nested JSON, Avro or Parquet files.

Select a file to import and then choose the output format type. The data model will be imported into the Test Data Project with Domains and Attributes set up accordingly. To learn more, click here.

Create Your Domain with Attribute, Size, and Type in Scratch Pad

A Domain can be created in Scratch Pad by choosing a Delimiter and then typing or pasting the Attribute Name. Now, you can include additional information about each Attribute (Size, Type, etc.) when creating a Domain with Scratch Pad.

This can be done by choosing a Column Delimiter and pasting or typing this information with the Attribute Name in Scratch Pad. Click here to learn more about creating Domains with Scratch Pad.

Integrate with Java Maven Project for using GenRocket APIs

GenRocket can now be integrated with a Java Maven Project. To do so, you will need to do the following:

  1. Request a private read token and repository name from GenRocket
  2. Add the repository to your pom.xml
  3. Add dependencies in pom.xml for downloading GenRocket Jars

Once these steps have been completed, your pom.xml will be ready and you can begin using GenRocket APIs in your project! To view an article on how to integrate with a Java Maven Project, click here.
