Description

The Domains Pane can be used to view and manage all Domains for a selected Project Version within a given Project. From this pane, you can access and manage each Domain (e.g., Attributes, assigned Generators, assigned Receivers, Scenarios).

What is a Domain? 

Domains define real-world objects. Think of a Domain as you would a noun: a person, place, or thing. For example, if you want to generate test data for a Customer Database with five tables, each table would be a Domain. 


A Project Version within a given Project can have several Domains. Each Domain has its own Attributes, which define the characteristics of a Domain. 


How to Filter Domains

Domains within the Domains Pane can be filtered by keyword through the Filter input field.


How to View Domain Configuration Details

Select a Domain within the Domains Pane to view its Attributes, Receivers, and Scenarios within the Domain Dashboard.

Domains Pane - Icons, Menus, and Buttons

The following icons, menus, and buttons can be found within the Domains Pane:


Icon\Menu\Button

Description

The Magnifying Glass icon can be used to open the Advanced Domain Search dialog.


The Filter by Category drop-down menu can be used to filter Domains by category.


The Show More Domains icon can be used to expand the Domains Pane to full screen.


The New Domain drop-down menu can be used to: 
  • Create a New Domain (Scratchpad, New Domain)
  • Import a Data Model (DDL, JSON, XSD, XTS, Salesforce, CSV, YAML)

The Report icon can be used to view the Domain Report. The Domain Report shows each Domain within the selected Project Version. Assigned Generators and their configured Parameters are also shown for each Domain.


The Reference icon opens a dialog that shows references of Domain.

 
The Edit (Pencil) icon can be used to edit the Domain Name.


The Delete (Trash Can) icon can be used to delete a Domain from a Project Version.
