Description

The G-Migration+ Management Dashboard is used to create and manage a suite of G-Migration+ Configurations for a selected Project Version within a Project.

Each configuration contains all the information needed to perform Data Subsetting and/or Synthetic Data Masking (SDM) between a source and destination database. For each configuration, users can:

  • Add, exclude, and manage tables for data subsetting and masking.
  • Add a WHERE clause and/or limit rows (number or %) for data subsetting.
  • Select sensitive columns within one or more tables for data masking.
  • Select tables for full load during subsetting.

How to Access G-Migration+

  • Select a Project and Project Version (if multiple exist).
  • Next, expand the Self Serve Menu Options drop-down menu and select G-Migration+.

G-Migration+ Configuration Pane

This G-Migration+ Configuration Pane is used to create and manage G-Migration+ Configurations for a selected Project Version within a Project.

  • Users can create multiple configurations.
  • Each configuration is for a specified source and destination database.
  • Added tables, subsetting conditions, exclusions, and selected sensitive columns can vary per configuration.
  • All configurations use the same imported table schema.

The dashboard will appear as shown below when no configurations have been created and no table schema has been imported:

It will appear differently after creating at least one configuration and importing a table schema:

Note: When multiple configurations exist, click on a configuration to select it and view its table/column information. The chosen configuration will be highlighted in blue.

G-Migration+ Configuration Options

The following options are available within this pane:

Tables Tab

The Tables Tab can be used to add tables from the import schema. Users can add subsetting conditions for a particular table and select sensitive columns for Synthetic Data Masking (SDM). SDM will be performed as the subset of data is migrated to the destination database.

This tab will appear as shown below after a G-Migration+ configuration has been created. Please note that tables will not be available for selection until a table schema has been imported.

This tab will appear differently once tables have been added and the user has selected sensitive columns and/or added subsetting conditions.

The following options are available within this tab:

 Button/IconDescription
Add tables to the selected G-Migration+ configuration.
Select sensitive columns within the currently selected table for SDM.
Edit data subsetting conditions for an added table.
Remove a table or unselect sensitive columns for a selected table in the selected G-Migration+ configuration.

Note: This does not delete the table or column from the imported schema.

Exclusions Tab

The Exclusions Tab is used to exclude any tables that were part of the schema but should not be part of data subsetting.

For example, a system table that is not part of the actual data or another table that should not be part of the migrated subset of data.

It contains the following options:

Button/IconDescription
Select tables to exclude from the migrated data subset.
Remove an excluded table from the Exclusions tab.

Full Load Tab

The Full Load Tab can be used to select one or more tables for a full load (i.e., migration) during subsetting.

  • Only tables that do not have the subsetting condition(s) and are not descendants of the subsetting table will be selectable.
  • Tables cannot be selected until a subsetting condition has been added to a table in the configuration.

It contains the following options:

Button/IconDescription
