What is the G-Delta Management Dashboard?

The G-Delta Management Dashboard is used to view, create, and manage G-Deltas for a Project. Users can request, view, and accept/reject Audit Reports for each G-Delta.

How to Access the G-Delta Management Dashboard

You can access G-Delta from the Projects pane or the Self-Serve Menu options.

Method 1: Click on the G-Delta icon within the Projects pane for the Project.

Method 2: Select G-Delta in the Self Serve Menu Options for a Project Version.

G-Delta Management Dashboard Panes

The G-Delta Management Dashboard contains three panes:

  1. G-Delta Pane
  2. G-Delta Audit Summary Pane
  3. G-Delta Audit Summary Detail Pane

G-Delta Configuration Pane

The G-Delta Configuration Pane is used to add and manage G-Delta Configurations for a Project.

The following icons and buttons are available within the Actions Column:

Icon/ButtonDescription
Create a new G-Delta Configuration for a Project Version. Only one G-Delta can be created per Project Version. Users with the Org Admin or G-Delta Admin roles can create G-Deltas.
Enable or disable a G-Delta Configuration.
If disabled, scheduled audits will no longer be performed for the Project Version, and permitted users will not be able to manually request an Audit.

Make changes to a G-Delta Configuration.
Copy a G-Delta Configuration for another existing Project Version within a Project.
A copy can only be performed if a Project Version with the same setup is available.

Tip: The easiest approach is to use Project Version Copy and copy the entire Project Version.
Lock or unlock a G-Delta Configuration.
Only an Org Admin or the G-Delta creator can delete it from a Project when locked.
Delete a G-Delta Configuration from a Project.
G-Delta will no longer provide Audit Reports for the Project Version.
You will need to recreate the G-Delta Configuration to begin receiving audit reports again.

G-Delta Audit Summary Pane

The G-Delta Audit Summary Pane is used to view and accept/reject Audit Reports for a selected G-Delta within the dashboard.

The following icons and buttons are available within the Actions Column:

Icon/ButtonDescription
Manually request an Audit Report for a G-Delta. Only one request can be submitted at a time.
Accept the Audit Report for a G-Delta. GenRocket will refactor all accepted/modified actions to the Project Version.

Note: This option will not be available until each identified difference in the report has been accepted/rejected.
Reject the Audit Report for a G-Delta. No refactoring will occur.
No further actions can be taken for the G-Delta Report.

G-Delta Audit Summary Detail Pane

The G-Delta Audit Summary Detail Pane is used to accept, modify, or reject each audit item's recommended action in the selected audit report.

The following icons and buttons are available within the Actions Column:

Icon/ButtonDescription
Accept the remaining G-Delta recommended actions for a selected Audit Report. Any action that has not already been accepted, modified, or rejected will be accepted.
Reject the remaining G-Delta recommended actions for a selected Audit Report. Any action that has not been accepted, modified, or rejected will be rejected.
View all refactoring details for the Audit Report based on selections made in this pane.
View the Attributes for when the recommendation is to add a Domain.
Change the recommended action for an item within a selected Audit Report.

Example: A Table has been renamed within the database schema. GenRocket's recommended action is to delete the Domain and add a new one with that name. For the delete action, the user can modify the action to be a rename. The recommendation to add a new Domain will then be automatically rejected.
Accept a suggested action within a selected Audit Report.
Reject a suggested action within a selected Audit Report.
No further actions can be taken for the G-Delta Report.
