Description

Each time you log into the GenRocket web platform, you will see the Project Dashboard. This dashboard may be used to view, create, and manage the following: 

  • Projects
  • Organization Resources
  • Project Versions
  • Domains
  • Scenarios
  • Scenario Chains
  • Scenario Chain Sets



Project Dashboard Panes

The Project Dashboard contains several panes, which can be used to access a variety of features within the web platform: 


Pane Name

Description

Projects PaneThe Projects Pane can be used to view and manage all Projects within an Organization.

Queue Status PaneThe Queue Status Pane shows any tasks in the queue that are waiting to be processed.

Resources PaneThe Resources Pane can be used by Organization Admins to add and manage Organization Resources. Resource values are paths that may be configured by individuals users. They are used for test data generation.

Project Versions PaneA Project can have one or many versions with their own Domains, Receivers, and Scenarios. The Project Versions Pane can be used to view and manage each version of a given Project separately within the web platform.

Domains PaneThe Domains Pane can be used to view and manage all Domains for a selected Project Version within a given Project. 

Click on a Domain Name to view and manage its Attributes, Global Variables, Receivers, Scenarios, and Parent-Child-Sibling Relationships.

Scenarios PaneThe Scenarios Pane can be used to view and manage Scenarios for a selected Project Version within a given Project.

Scenario Chains PaneThe Scenario Chains Pane can be used to view and manage Scenario Chains for a selected Project Version within a given Project. 

Scenario Chains are two or more Scenarios linked together and are often used when building data for complex data models.

Scenario Chain Sets PaneThe Scenario Chain Sets Pane can be used to view and manage Scenario Chain Sets for a selected Project Version within a given Project. 

A Scenario Chain Set is a set of Scenario Chains linked together to run in a sequence.

Management PaneThe Management Pane contains 4 tabs:
  • The Project Version Variable Tab can be used to view, create, and manage Project Version Variable Sets. 

  • The Configuration Management Tab can be used to create one or more configuration files, which are required to merge data from different Domains (in Segment format) into one or more files.  For example, a configuration file can be used to create nested: 
  • The Migration Management Tab can be used to create a migration configuration file that is used by the G-Migration feature to migrate small or large amounts of data from a source database to a destination database for one or many tables. 

  • The Generator Tags Tab can be used to view, create, and manage Project Level Generator Tags. Generator Tags allow you to automatically assign a Generator to an attribute intelligently.
